de B’omb’il Pek
Whoever would like to learn more about caves will be able
to marvel themselves with a great variety of formations
as, curtains of several colours, pearls, massive columns
and several types of stalactites and stalagmites. B'omb'il
Pek -Piedra Pintada - is an excellent option for the adventurous
tourist. To enter to the cave, you should go down to the
bottom of a deep ravine that harbours an exuberant and
mysterious vegetation. To the ravine, formed by the collapse
of an old cavern, you can descend with a sheer wooden
stairway or with a rappel rope. Inside the cave are remains
of the Mayan culture, such as prehispanic altars, ceramic
remains and the first prehistoric paintings found in a
