Cuevas de B’omb’il Pek
Whoever would like to learn more about caves will be able to marvel themselves with a great variety of formations as, curtains of several colours, pearls, massive columns and several types of stalactites and stalagmites. B'omb'il Pek -Piedra Pintada - is an excellent option for the adventurous tourist. To enter to the cave, you should go down to the bottom of a deep ravine that harbours an exuberant and mysterious vegetation. To the ravine, formed by the collapse of an old cavern, you can descend with a sheer wooden stairway or with a rappel rope. Inside the cave are remains of the Mayan culture, such as prehispanic altars, ceramic remains and the first prehistoric paintings found in a cave of Guatemala. To be alblñe to see the paintings it is necessary to slip through two narrow holes in the cave rocks. The community and offers the tour service for both caves and through natural paths.

Río San Simon
The river, with turquoise waters, crosses the surrounding forest and passes through some cardamom plantations and immense rocks covered with vegetation. The most adventurous will want to slide quickly on a floating tube, through the rapids formed by the stone canyon that gives refuge to the river. Cuevas de la Candelaria The Caves of the Candelaria are of the most impressive in Guatemala.
