11 volcanoes classified as active in the World’s
Active Volcanoes Catalogue (1958, Volcano International
Association). However, it possesses a registration of
33 volcanoes in all its territory.

Volcan de Pacaya
El Volcano de Pacaya located between the departments of
Escuintla and Guatemala. The Volcano is in permanent activity,
offering a grandiose show for its admirers from close

event, the name was changed to the Volcán de Agua.

Acatenango is the third highest volcano of the country, rises
