YAXHA & NAKUM

Nakúm is an extraordinary Mayan city constructed in the late classic period; located 17 kms to the north of the Yaxhá Archaeological site and the fascinating Holmul River; which can be visited by vehicle or enjoying a pleasant cavalcade in the dry seasons.
In this site you will be able to enjoy an exciting long walk through the main road, which will lead you to the impressing Monumental area, that counts with a big concentration of great buildings, plazas and pyramids in which the exposed interesting architecture can be appreciated, as well as the coal drawings and glyphs; in addition, you will have the opportunity to observe a building with a singular structure formed by 32 quarters and a pyramid with magnificent arcs carved in the inner wall of the temple.

 

Itinerary-One day

Pick you up at your hotel or the Mundo Maya International Airport, Santa Elena, Petén. Our journey starts towards the archaeological site in a 4X4 vehicle. You will notice the structures stand out covered by lush vegetation. Lunch followed by an evening the tour around the Yaxha archaeological site visiting the Groups A, B, C structures & temple 216. Subsequently, we will head back to the car and head back to Flores City.

Time of the Tour 7:30 am -15:00 pm | Trips leave: Everyday -private service-

This tour is only carried out in the dry season generally from March to September.
