north North of Flores, This trail passes through the Bat Biotope
known as El Zotz Biotope, famous for its pristine forest and
bat caves, treks through the jungle and comes out into finishing
at the backdoor of Tikal National Park! Wildlife, archaeology
and jungle exploration come together in this magical experience.

ZOTZ - TIKAL TRAIL
The
desire to live a fascinating experience invites
you to make this tour that last for three days which
starts in Cruce dos Aguadas, a community within
the Mayan Biosphere Reserve. Exploring the El Biotopo
del Zotz, by night fall you will be the spectator
of a surprising spectacle given by the bats that
come out of the caves and rocky crags to feed on
the fruits and at the same time to disperse seeds
that help the reproduction of the forest. As well
as the bats the hawks come out to obtain the food
of the day. One camp in the forest and a long walk
is made crossing several ecosystems, until arriving
from a sudden and surprising way at the impressive
Mayan City "Tikal"..

7:30
am to 18:00 pm
DAY
1: Departing minibus from the City of Flores towards
the community of Cruce Dos Aguadas. Upon arriving,
breakfast. After securing your luggage on the
horses, we will head to El Biotopo del Zotz. Lunbox
meal. Prepare the tent, dinner. The 6-hour trail
to El Zotz.
DAY
2: At dawn we will observe the return of the thousands
of bats to their caves. Breakfast; next will visit
the archaeological Zots. The horses will take
our luggage, lunch on route. After that we head
towards the camping of the Yesal, take a rest
and have supper.
DAY
3. Breakfast in Yesal, continuing our natural
journey observing a great variety of forest species
and have the experience to enter tempo IV of Tikal
like a great explorer where our adventure concludes,
Lunch in Tikal. And Return to Flores City.
