Belize Jungle/ Ruins/Beach Package

 

Day 1: Belize City Airport – Lamanai (Orange Walk Town)
Arrival at the Phillip Goldson International Airport in Belize City, meet and greet by our local representatives whom will then provide land transfer to Lamanai Archaeological reserve located north of Belize in the Orange Walk District. Overnight


Day 2: Lamanai (Submerged crocodile) Archaeological Site
Morning breakfast at your hotel, local guide will then take you to your expedition exploring the third largest site in Belize. Occupied continuously for over 3,000 years and its remoteness contributed to its continuous occupation, well beyond most other Maya sites, until at least 1,650 AD. Set in tropical forest and providing spectacular views from several of its large temples, Lamanai provides a unique experience into the culture of the Maya and the biological diversity of the tropical forest, lunch at the site for an afternoon transfer back to your hotel.  Overnight


Day 3: Lamanai Orange Walk – San Ignacio Cayo District
Breakfast at hotel in Lamanai transfer to airstrip in Orange Walk Town for flights to central farm in the Cayo District then land transfer to hotel in the area, afternoon at leisure, optional land transfer from  your Lamanai to San Ignacio with a stop at the baboon wildlife sanctuary in Burrell boom and lunch enroute to the hotel. Overnight


Day 4: San Ignacio – Caracol – Rio on pools
Morning breakfast at your hotel, picked up by our local tour guide whom will take you on a days expedition to explore one of Belize’s incredible archaeological site, Caracol (Place of Snails) Situated high on the Vaca Plateau deep in the Chiquibul Forest Reserve, Caracol is the most extensive Mayan site in Belize and was only re-discovered in 1936. The site of Caracol covers over 80 square miles with 30,000 structures and at its peak supported a population of more than 150,000 people. Situated 1600 feet above sea level with no natural body of water nearby, it remains a mystery how such a huge population was able to survive there. At the heart of the site lies the massive pyramid of Caana (Sky Palace), which is now almost fully restored and reaches over 135 feet high. From the top you can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views over the forest-clad mountains. After Lunch we will visit the Barton creek caves an Amish territory deep in the hills and valleys of Belize. Equipped with Canoes and high powered lights you will gently paddle into the Xibalba (she-bal-ba), Maya for underworld. Stalactites and Stalagmites hang high overhead as you float past impressive calcite crystal formations. Our knowledgeable guide will discuss the relevance of the cave to the ancient Mayan people and the archaeological significance of this 7.5km limestone Cave system. Overnight




Day 5: San Ignacio – Pooks Hill Cayo District
Breakfast at your hotel, land transfer to Pooks hill where you will enjoy an afternoon tour to the wonderful Actun Tunichil Mucnal this tour combines nature hiking, caving adventure, and a magical trip into the Maya underworld, making it one of the most popular adventure tours in western Belize – and Pook’s Hill is the only Lodge within walking distance of this amazing cave! A several mile hike up the Roaring River Valley and through the rainforest of the Tapir Mountain Preserve leads you to the entrance of the cave where an experienced guide will take you on a journey into Xibalba (the Maya underworld). Overnight


Day 6: Pooks Hill – Belize City – San Pedro
Breakfast at the Pooks Hill Lodge then land transferred by our driver to the Belize City dock where you will embark on a water taxi to San Pedro Ambergris Caye with a brief stop at the Belize City Zoo to observe the natural wild life and local animals of the site. Overnight


Day 7: San Pedro – Hol Chan Marine Reserve
Morning breakfast at your hotel then you will be picked up by our local guide whom will take you on a one in a life time snorkeling/ scuba diving experience to the Hol Chan Marine Reserve where you will have first hand encounter with the marine life and coral. Inside the reef the clear shallow water is ideal for observation of fishes including sharks, stingrays and moray eels. Lunch at the reserve transferred back to San Pedro. Overnight


Day 8: San Pedro Ambergris Caye
Sun, fun, pampering spa treatments and optional activities such as parasailing, jet water skiing, sailing, canoeing, kayaking, catamarans, boating or simply just relaxing by the beach enjoying the warmth of the sun sipping on a nice cocktail!  Free day and activities to choose from. Overnight


Day 9: San Pedro Ambergris Caye – Belize City Out
Breakfast at your hotel followed by a boat transfer from San Pedro to the Belize City dock, land transfer to the Phillip Goldson International Airport where you will depart on your international flight to your following destination with wonderful memories of your trip.
