Discover Guatemala – 10 days
ANTIGUA – CHICHI MARKET – ATITLAN LAKE – COPAN (Honduras)
RIO DULCE - LIVINGSTON - YAXHA - TIKAL

Day 1.  AIRPORT – ANTIGUA GUATEMALA
On arrival in Guatemala City, transfer to Antigua. (1hr) Antigua 2N

Day 2.  ANTIGUA GUATEMALA (B)
Our bi-lingual guide will take a half day walking tour of Antigua.  Visit the Cathedral, Palacio de los Capitanes, La Merced church & San Francisco church, some historic museums and the Jade Factory (3-4hr).

Day 3.  ANTIGUA – CHICHICASTENANGO – ATITLAN (B)
Today we will be visiting the colorful indigenous market of Chichicastenango (2.5hr) and the church of Santo Tomás, where ancient Mayan rites and mysticism are mixed with traditional religion (3-4hr). After the visit, we will continue our journey to the town of Panajachel in Atitlan Lake. Atitlan 1N

Day 4.  ATITLAN LAKE (B,L)
This morning guests will take a scenic boat ride across Lake Atitlan to the village of Santiago where they have lunch in a local hotel and tour the village visiting the Maya God Maximon and learn about the spiritualism and beliefs of the T’zutujil Maya before transferring on to Guatemala City & to your hotel. (2.5hr) Guatemala City 1N.



Day 5.  COPAN (Honduras) (B)
Transfer across Guatemala towards the border with Honduras. Just across the border you are in the pretty colonial village of Copan Ruinas. (5hrs) Free afternoon to relax or explore this pretty colonial town. Copan 1N.

Day 6.  COPAN site (B,L)
Your guide will meet you at your hotel and transfer you to the Maya Site of Copan were a principal cultural center, advanced in its development of sculpture, astronomy and hieroglyphic writing. Afternoon transfer to Izabal and Visit the beautiful, UNESCO protected small Mayan Temple site at Quirigua, this site is famous for huge stela carved in rock 30ft high. Rio Dulce 1N

Day 7.  LIVINGSTON (B,L)
Cruise the Rio Dulce River through the central canyon and down to the Garifuna town of Livingston on the Coast. Explore Livingston on a guided walking tour then journey back downriver to Rio Dulce and per chance see the elusive Manatee. Once back at Rio Dulce board your transfer to the Tikal area. (3hrs) Flores 1N.

Day 8.  YAXHA SUNSET (B)
Guests enjoy a free morning to relax. After lunch they transfer to Yaxha National Park (approx 1hr) to explore this atmospheric lakeside site ending with refreshments & wonderful views at sunset over the rainforest canopy from atop the main temples.

Day 9.  TIKAL (B,L)
Early in the morning leave to explore the amazing Mayan Temple site at Tikal National Park (1.15hr). The sounds of monkeys and tropical birds fill the air. Hike with a bi-lingual guide in the site, Temple IV, Plaza Central, and Mundo Perdido (3-4hr). Lunch inside the park. Afternoon transfer to the airport. You will take flight to Guatemala City. On arrival Guatemala, our driver will transfer to hotel. Guatemala City 1N

Day 10.  GUATEMALA CITY – AIRPORT OUT (B)
