Palenque/Bonampak

Palenque, it is located north of the Rio Usumacinta in Mexican territory and its original name is B'aakal. Evidence ties and antagonism with Tonina, Piedras Negras, related Calakmul and the enemy of Tikal.


Most beautiful are the Temple of Inscriptions and the Temple of the Cross with its axial steps of six levels, and the Sun Temple, erected in 672 and 690 accordingly. Both are the work of Kan Balam, the son of Pacal.
Bonampak offers a portrait of the life of the ancient Maya, in wall paintings depicting their achievements. It is located 30 km from the border with Guatemala and in route to Palenque, is currently managed by the Lacandon people.

DAY 1.  FLORES – FRONT. COROZAL – BONAMPAK - PALENQUE
7:00 am Departure to border with Mexico (3hr aprox), on the route visit the Bonampak site, and continue to Palenque town for lodging.

DAY 2.  PALENQUE FULL DAY
Early in the morning visit to Palenque in shared transfer. The site is a half day you complement in the museum of Palenque. Not include: entrance fee, guide and lunch.

Our driver picks you up at your hotel and transfer to the border of Guatemala (3hr) for continues to Flores.(2.5hr)
