Excavated by Carnegie Institution in the 1960´s, known as the Maya Art Gallery, Ceibal is got a lot to offer in terms of exquisite carvings. Only two main structures have been exposed at Ceibal that creates an incredible ambience where it feels like you are the first one there. The forest there is completely different from the rest of the region dense a tall canopy, located in the southern area of Petén on the hilltops along the side of La Pasión River.  It can be reached by boat or car both are at the same distance and time-wise.

Ceibal Archaeological site is located to 12km. east of Sayaxché, Petén over the west banks of the Rio La Passion, with an elevation of 220mts over sea level.

Departure to Sayaxche in the southern part of Petén on the banks of La Pasión River, it will take about an hour fifteen minutes at most..

Aboard the fast boat that will navigate for about 45 minutes, along the river you will admire the hundreds of birds of different species that inhabit there.
