Peten Itzá Lake is the largest body of water on the Yucatan peninsula. Historically it is here where the last battle between Spanish and Native Maya people took place in 1697. Its 60 square miles of fresh water houses an endemic species of fish the Petenia splendid as well as many others. The picturesque villages around the Lake make a great blend of people, history and natural beauty for you delight.


Suggested Itinerary

9:00 am. Pick up at hotel and transfer to the lake for the boat trip.

9:10 am. Aboard the boat to visit Santa Barbara Museum Island and navigate to Tayazal Peninsula where you will explore the ancient city of Ta´Itza while walking around.

13:00 Lunch at Chechenal. A locally known beach with its pristine waters on the northern side of the peninsula will become the perfect place for relax and swimming.

15:00 Return to hotel end of services.
