Survivor Reality Show by CBS was film here in 2005. The important ceremonial center of Yaxha (emerald green water) is located between the two lakes of Yaxhá and Sacnab. We will depart from your hotel at around 2:00pm off to explore Yaxhá, an important Maya site that in 2005 was the location of the popular U.S. television series, ‘Survivor.’ Yaxhá has over 500 structures including 40 stelae, two ball courts and nine temple pyramids. Structures at Yaxhá show the influence of Teotihuacan and include the only twin-pyramid complex outside of Tikal.

YAX-HA is an archaeological site and ancient ceremonial center of Mayan civilization situated in the northeast of Peten, Guatemala.  It is located  approximately 30 km (18.6 miles) southeast of Tikal and 75 km from Flores.

Guests are picked up from their hotel at 2:00 pm and transfer with their driver and guide to Yaxha Park where you can enjoy a private guided tour of this lesser visited, atmospheric site. Guests can enjoy the sights and sounds of the howler and spider monkeys as well as many colorful tropical birds and other mammals in this area which is rich with wildlife. Guests then trek back through the jungle with torches as it starts to turn dark - perhaps spotting some nocturnal wildlife along the way - and back to their hotel.
