Yaxha is more than an archaeological site it was sacred for the ancient Mayas for its association with the Jade colour. It possesses two lagoons with an intense turquoise image of their waters called Yaxhá and Sacnab. Yaxhá, which means green water, possesses a complex variety in which the acropolis, roads and avenues stand out. Its biggest culmination was in the classic period on the year 300 to the 950 a.c.

Yaxha One day - Itinerary

Minibus will depart from Flores City or Mundo Maya International Airport to Yaxhá-Nakum-Naranjo National Park. (Arriving time - in aprox.70 minutes).

Tour through the National Park Yaxhá to appreciate its spectacular archaeological landscape complemented with the green broadleaf forest overflowing with wonderful wildlife, not forgetting the beautiful colour of the lagoon that together with the green emerald colour distilled from the forest makes an unforgettable and unique scenery.

Lunch will be taken at El Sombrero Eco-lodge in Yaxha.

Departing from Yaxhá and back to Flores.
